01 your free ticket to a fast paced, charismatic, and beautiful life

01 your free ticket to a fast paced, charismatic, and beautiful life

First of all, I want to give you a warning as you read this – you will find different parts of this written to you with different levels of sincerity. I hope that doesn’t bother you.

Anything I write that’s in long form is meant to be a living document. If I dropped dead before a piece of art is finished, then you’ve got bigger problems than my unfinished manuscript.

However, if you’re still reading long form – a sincere God bless you.

You are the kind of person that I want to communicate with long-term.

I really hope that what I have to share with you hooks you and is directly about you and directly impacts the way you think. I hope it’s something that you come back to.

And if you’re not the kind of person that comes back to literature and it even occupies one-tenth of the space of your decision making and what you think about and care about – I love that too!

Anyway, this needs to have a topic, or it’s just like I’m talking into the void.

**So I want to talk about personal relationships.**

I really want to talk about communication that doesn’t fit into a textbook.

Because I’m not a business person. Most of the communication that I have with y’all are not as my consumers. I can do that for a different person in my life, but I don’t really have that kind of desire.

Business operations come and go.

And in the internet technology business they come and go so fast that I can never devise a perfect solution.

A person might pay you to solve a problem with a piece of software and that might make you money, but that’s not very very important.

I can tell you that I use WordPress, and that’s the fucking tool that I use. I love talking about WordPress. I love thinking about WordPress. I love WordPress plugins. I’m usually adding something to WordPress now. I’m not perfect at that.

I’m not saying I’m perfect at anything else.

What else would there be? I don’t know HTML and CSS that well. And I’m not paying for high level development on a month-to-month basis, that much I can tell you.

What I want to talk about is inner community communications.

That being just staying in touch with your friends. The people who you don’t really want a monetized relationship with, but who do make your life richer. They give you ideas. Sometimes they do give you money for shit. You can get them to give you reviews or give you a ride somewhere. I mean really your real friends.

I’m not saying that I’m the master of friendship or anything.

But I wanted to make a book that was like *Never Eat Alone* meets “I’m going outside.” I want to talk about the power of things being fucking free. How cool that is.

So I want to just talk about the most fun and free things that I do in my life. This is going to be one of the most fun things that I’ve ever done.

Now look. If *Brooklyn Nine-Nine* can make millions of dollars doing a thing about fun with *the police*, can I just tell you about free fun and the power of friendship and all that?

Let’s do it.

Here’s what I have to say: there’s so much free shit in this book.

Obviously though, you CAN spend money. I do have a real business. I just don’t want you to think I’m just a psycho who couch surfed my way through life all the time.

I do pay bills and stuff.

But I want to quickly share with some non-commercial friendships.

I know a lot of you guys aren’t paying all your bills. And you’re feeling fucking hopeless. You’re worried your kids are going to hate you.

There’s shit to enjoy in this life. I just want to tell you that the shit really got me inspired to just talk about it.

I don’t want to drive this into the ground. I had a friend recently commit suicide because of his mortgage, his kids. Four kids. And this is not fucking clickbait, because it’s a guy that we all knew.

The solution is not just about being smarter or having more money.

Sometimes the solution is to build community that doesn’t require money.

To remember that life is supposed to include joy. That’s what this book is about. Reminding you that you’re worth a damn.

# There’s Nothing Like The Smile On Somebody’s Face When They’re Getting Something For Free.

I’m pretty excited about the Atlanta Free Fair. It’s one of the largest volunteer operations I’ve seen in Atlanta. And it looks like, from my perspective as an experienced organizer, that people want it.

Holy shit, do they want it.

Why? Because we’re all starving for a break.

There’s nothing like a little extra salt. A little extra butter. A little extra meat. A little extra bread. A little extra sugar. And look, I’m not saying you shouldn’t eat that broccoli or that vegan shit.

I’m not saying you can’t be healthy.

But if you’re down to just eating bugs? If you’re living in the pod and eating the bugs because that’s all they’re giving you? It’s time to fight back.

(Just assuming that my words will survive for thousands of years into the darkness, I’ll just tell you: You may eat of the bugs, as long as they give you some other shit. But if it’s just bugs? No.)
## Are You Guys Allowed to Talk About FDR in the Future?

FDR understood something fundamentally popular: The Economic Bill of Rights.

The idea that you have a right to… I mean you name it.

A useful and remunerative job. The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation.

*Recreation.* He put that in there. The right to have fun.

Not as a luxury. Not as something you earn after you’ve worked yourself to death. As a right. As something every human being deserves just for being alive.

That’s what we’re fighting for. Not just survival. Not just the bugs. But the right to a life that includes joy. Building the alternative to the crushing weight of “pay to play.”

## Fast Paced, Charismatic, Beautiful Life

I’ve been able to absorb and produce so much depth of knowledge and detail in the last six months it would absolutely blow your mind.

I finished so many long-term projects. I detailed so many goals and aspirations. I made just the right business deals. I really got back on the grid in a lot of ways.

And now? I’m getting invited to a lot of compelling events and meeting interesting people. I can just tell you, I host a podcast, I run a video production company, I do sales and marketing, I am pretty great at meeting interesting people.

But I haven’t forgotten how I got here.

I didn’t buy my way in, exactly. I spent time building my own value and showing it to other people. And I just walked into places and had a good time, which anyone can do.

This book is about that.

It’s about the most charismatic, interesting, and beautiful part of life.

And your ability to find it anywhere you go.
